Welcome to the HTY 115 World Civilizations web page for Fall 2005! Most of the material you need for this course is under the section called "Course Content." Click on the "Course Content" bar to your left. It will take you to the "Sessions." Each Session is dated for each week of our class! This Web Page serves both the 9:00 regular session of HTY 115 World Civilizations I and the 10:00 Honors section. Special material for each class will marked in the title. All other material, such as the lecture outlines are common to both classes. The sessions have a lot of material for you. You will find a session that has the unique material for each class designated by your class time (9:00 or 10:00). The session designated by your class time has your course syllabus. Open it and print out a copy! There are separate syllabi for the 9:00 and 10:00 classes. All you assignments, dates of exams and discussions, and the schedule of lectures are in your syllabus! Make sure you print the correct one for your class! Any doubt, contact me BEFORE YOU BUY YOUR BOOKS! Each Session has a print out to supplement each lecture. On it are key words, special areas in each chapter of Traditions and Encounters you need to pay atention to, primary sources we'll discuss each class, and key words and term to know for the exam. Other helps are added to the Sessions as the term progresses, so check often! Dr. D.

Course Description
Description: 3 credits. A survey of world civilization from the dawn of civilization through the 16th century. An emphasis will be placed on the political, social, intellectual, and economic cultures of China, India, MesoAmerica, the Middle East, and Sub-saharian Africa. This course fills history concentration requirements and part of the sequential history requirement for the General Education Core option.
